TONE HOLMEN

Welcome

Tone Holmen is a Norwegian artist whose work is dealing with climate change, maps, geography and landscape.

Her work is influenced by experiences of the landscape where she grew up. Huge solely landscapes seen from mountain peaks are transformed into paintings with an atmospheric approach to the climate change and the melting glaciers. The landscapes do not have figures in them, they are there for you to explore by yourself.

The drawings are coastlines drawn from maps or contours of glaciers that disappears.

Her latest work are polar bear-sculptures made from recycled materials; mainly used plastic carrier bags and a peacock made from cd's etc.
